Joshua Kimmich ruled out of Arsenal clash following sudden passing of his father

Bayern Munich captain Joshua Kimmich will play no part in tonight’s Champions League encounter against Arsenal after being granted compassionate leave following a family bereavement.
The Bavarian club officially confirmed that the midfielder had been omitted from the matchday squad to be with his loved ones. According to reports from Bild, Kimmich’s father, Berthold Kimmich, has passed away suddenly at the age of 57. Berthold had been an instrumental, ever-present figure in his son's footballing journey, playing a central role in guiding Joshua's development from grassroots football to the peak of the European game.
Bayern released a statement extending their deepest condolences to the player and his family, urging supporters and the media alike to allow the Germany international space during this period of grief.
"Due to a passing in his immediate family, Joshua Kimmich is not in the squad today for the match against Arsenal," the club statement read. "On behalf of the family, we ask that his privacy and grief be respected, and that further inquiries and reporting be refrained from. We send our deepest condolences to Joshua Kimmich and his loved ones."
Bayern Munich host Arsenal at the Allianz Arena tonight, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 CET.
