Inzaghi lined up to replace under-fire Spalletti at Juventus, reports suggest

Former Inter Milan and Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi has emerged as the leading candidate to take over as Juventus head coach ahead of the 2027/28 campaign, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian tactician is currently in charge of Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Current boss Luciano Spalletti finds himself under mounting scrutiny following a sluggish start to the domestic season. The Bianconeri have mustered just 11 points from their opening seven Serie A fixtures, registering three wins, two draws, and two defeats to lose early ground on the frontrunners.
While the Juventus hierarchy maintain their public backing of the veteran tactician for now, his margin for error has diminished dramatically. Turin executives have made Champions League qualification the non-negotiable benchmark for the campaign; should Spalletti fail to secure a top-four finish, the club are fully prepared to sanction a managerial change next summer.
Spalletti’s immediate test arrives on Thursday evening, when Juventus look to alleviate domestic tensions as they host Rennes in the Europa League.
