Arsenal are concerned that star winger Bukayo Saka could be sidelined for up to two months after suffering a quadriceps injury during the club’s 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. Fluid around the damaged muscle is making it difficult to assess the full extent of the injury, with the club’s medical team expecting the England international to miss at least six weeks, potentially longer.
If those fears are confirmed, Saka will miss a crucial run of fixtures for Arsenal, dealing a significant blow to the club’s ambitions. The winger could also be unavailable for England’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
The latest setback adds to a frustrating period of injury problems for the Arsenal academy graduate. Fitness issues have limited his playing time in recent months, including towards the end of last season and during England’s World Cup campaign, when an Achilles tendon injury affected his availability.
Saka also underwent hamstring surgery in December 2024, ruling him out for 101 days during the 2024-25 season.
