Uli Hoeness issues stern warning to Bayern youngster Lennart Karl over off-pitch distractions

Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has publicly criticised 18-year-old prospect Lennart Karl following an underwhelming start to the season, urging the teenager to "come back down to earth" after his breakout campaign.
“I intend to have a serious talk with him. He is a long way from being a superstar; young players need to remain humble,” Hoeness told Welt am Sonntag. “Young players also need pressure. I’m not sure Lennart Karl always needs to be mollycoddled. Comparisons with Olise are clearly not doing him any good; there is still a huge gap between them.”
Hoeness’s remarks follow a report from Bild detailing growing frustration among Bayern executives regarding Karl’s social media activity. Club hierarchy reportedly feel the young attacker spends too much time highlighting his "glamorous lifestyle" and his relationship with influencer girlfriend Zoe Käppele rather than focusing on his development on the pitch.
