AC Milan suffered their first defeat of the Serie A campaign in a damaging setback ahead of the upcoming derby, slipping to fifth in the league standings after a dramatic loss to Bologna. The hosts made a flying start, with Mbangula opening the scoring in the eighth minute after being set up by Zortea. However, Siss quickly restored parity, capitalising on a defensive mistake to bring Milan back into the contest.

Siss struck again to complete his brace, converting a pass from Fikayo Tomori, who was subsequently forced off with a muscular injury. The game then swung decisively in Bologna's favour in a breathtaking two-minute spell, as an own goal from Bartesaghi was followed by Mbangula's second of the night.

With Milan struggling to recover, Mbangula delivered the decisive blow late in the match, completing a sensational hat-trick and sealing a memorable victory for Bologna.
