UCL: Bayern Munich Beat Atletico Madrid

Bayern Munich secured a 2-0 away victory over Atletico Madrid in the fourth round of the Champions League. The German giants enjoyed the better of the contest and eventually broke down the hosts’ well-organised defence through sustained pressure after the interval, despite being without several key attacking players and head coach Vincent Kompany.
The breakthrough arrived in the 54th minute following a costly mistake by Robin Le Normand. Eighteen-year-old Lennart Karl pounced on the loose ball and finished clinically, scoring the fifth European goal of his career to put Bayern in front.
Harry Kane did not get on the scoresheet, but he still played a decisive role in the result. The England captain supplied the pass for Konrad Laimer, who calmly finished past Jan Oblak to double Bayern’s advantage.
