The preliminary round of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is over with drama and excitement, surprises and disappointments, and many goals in 56 games.

After a one-day break the tournament will continue with the quarter-finals in Tampere and Helsinki that will be played cross-over between the top-four teams of the two groups as follows.
