Robert Lewandowski talking to Bild confirmed his desire to leave the German club this summer.

"I've always tried to do my best for FC Bayern in order to meet the expectations of the team and the fans. I appreciate Bayern fans, they've always supported me.

This club and this city have become a home for me. I've been very happy there for years. I met a lot of wonderful people on and off the pitch. But departures are part of football. If I feel like I need a change mentally, it's fair to say so. This is my opinion.

I don't want an escalation. The media world and the real world of football are two different things. In the media, in public, it's often about rumors and emotions. In the real football world, silence is especially important during the transfer window.

That's why I don't want to add fuel to the fire. I wish Bayern all the best and I have no doubt that the entire management of the club feels the same way. That's why I remain convinced that we will find an agreement together."
