Ukrainian journalist Ihor Tsyganyk talked about possible changes in the Ukrainian national team after the potential departure of coach Oleksandr Petrakov.

"UAF will wait for the draw of Euro-2024 qualification (October 9) in order to understand what our chances are, and only after that they will make a decision.

Regarding the work of Petrakov, I did not hide my opinion. The previous team of Andriy Shevchenko did a good job, played against top teams, won Nations League group, looked okay in Division A with two wins. Petrakov came at a time when there is a change of generations. We needed to introduce new players, and this is always a painful moment. But on the other hand, the coach is responsible for the result. In this regard, he must explain why we didn’t qualify for the 2022 World Cup with the weakest opponents we could get, and why we didn’t win the weakest group in the Nations League with six points after two rounds.

Everyone wants Serhiy Rebrov to be the new coach of Ukraine, but he's just busy right now. Markevich is constantly present in the lists of candidates from the media. Rotan needs to play with the youth team at the European Championships - he has great success, he still has everything ahead of him. Ruslan needs to calmly prepare the youth team for Euro 2023. We now have a very good young generation of football players. I am very happy for Rotan, I was very worried about him, just like for Petrakov. Now the situation is very difficult," says Tsyganyk.
