Shakhtar CEO Serhiy Palkin confirmed that goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov has not received a new contract from the team. The agreement of the 39-year-old expired on June 30, as a result Pyatov became a free agent.

“Andriy Pyatov has ended his football career in our team. He has come a long way - 16 years, a lot of trophies. We are grateful to him. On August 6 we will play against Tottenham and invited Andriy to play his farewell match. I hope he accepts this offer and we say goodbye to him nicely.

We say goodbye to him as a player, but would like to see him join our new staff as a goalkeepers coach. We value his knowledge and experience,” Palkin said.
