In the third round of the German Bundesliga, reigning champion Bayer visited Hoffenheim.

The hosts could not offer serious resistance - in the 30th minute the score already was 2:0 in favour of Leverkusen. First, Martin Terje hit an empty net after a pass from Victor Boniface, and then Boniface masterfully sent the ball past the goalkeeper.

After the break Bayer scored twice more, as Florian Wirz converted a penalty and Boniface got another goal for his team.
