England are ranked as the second favorite for the 2026 World Cup, right behind Brazil

The new England head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has been given a clear and ambitious objective: to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This was confirmed by FA Chief Executive Mark Bullingham, who stated: “Fundamentally we wanted to hire a coaching team to give us the best possible chance of winning a major tournament, and we believe they will do just that.”

Tuchel has a proven track record of winning trophies, having guided Chelsea to Champions League glory. In fact, his win percentage in Europe's elite competition ranks as the third-highest in history, behind only Pep Guardiola and Louis van Gaal.

"Thomas and the team have a single-minded focus on giving us the best possible chance to win the World Cup in 2026," Bullingham reiterated, setting the target firmly in sight.

As of October 2024, England are ranked as the second favorite for the 2026 World Cup, right behind Brazil. With Tuchel at the helm, the pressure is on to end England’s long wait for international glory.
