The 27-year-old winger sustained a strain to his left thigh

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has suffered a quadriceps injury while on international duty with France and is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks, the French Football Federation confirmed on Friday.

The 27-year-old winger sustained a strain to his left thigh and has already left the France squad’s training camp, along with teammate Bradley Barcola, who picked up a knee contusion. Both players will miss Sunday’s UEFA Nations League third-place play-off against Germany in Stuttgart.

No replacements will be called up by manager Didier Deschamps, as Les Bleus look to close out their campaign without two of their most dynamic attacking options.

The injury is a significant blow for PSG, who will be without Dembélé for the opening match of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup against Atlético Madrid on June 15 in Los Angeles. His availability for the second group game, against Botafogo on June 20, remains doubtful.
