Burnley took advantage of Sheffield United's slip-up yesterday and caught up with the Championship leader. In an away match against Sheffield Wednesday, the visitors opened the scoring in the 37th minute, with Jaden Anthony netting his first goal for Burnley. Captain Josh Brownhill sealed the victory for his team with a goal early in the second half.

In the highest-scoring match of the day, Cardiff City demolished Plymouth 5-0 at home. Interestingly, the Welsh side had only scored four goals in their previous nine games of the season.

Queens Park Rangers continued their losing streak. In a battle of the Championship's bottom sides, QPR fell to Portsmouth, who secured their first win of the season and climbed off the bottom of the table.
