In the seventh Bundesliga round, Union defeated Holstein and caught up to Bayer, who is in currently fourth in the Bundesliga table.

The visitors opened the scoring midway through the first half, when after a pass from Rothe Kemlein headed the ball into the right corner. At the end of the match, Union, who were in complete control, scored a second time. Now Rothe hit the goal with his head after Benes' cross. 2:0 - victory for Union.
