Spain secured a 2-1 victory over Denmark on Friday, cementing their position at the top of Group A4 in the UEFA Nations League. However, the win came at a cost, with injuries to Alejandro Baena and Martín Zubimendi casting a shadow over the celebrations.

Injury Updates from De la Fuente

Speaking after the match, Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente provided updates on the condition of the two players who were forced off during the game.

"Baena had some trouble with his ankle. It doesn’t seem too serious, but we’ll need to monitor the situation closely," said De la Fuente. "As for Zubimendi, his thigh didn’t allow him to continue, which is why we made the substitution."

The coach reassured fans that the team’s primary objective—winning the group—had already been achieved, allowing them the luxury of squad rotation in the final group-stage match against Switzerland.

Opportunity for Rotation

Spain's position at the top of the group ensures they will be seeded for the quarterfinals, set to take place in March. De la Fuente hinted that the upcoming match against Switzerland will give him an opportunity to refresh his lineup.

"We’ve completed our task, so the next game will allow us to rotate the squad and give some players a much-needed break," he concluded.
