Nagelsmann in Talks Over New Contract with Germany National Team
Following the Germany national team’s impressive performance in the UEFA Nations League, the German Football Association (DFB) has initiated negotiations to extend head coach Julian Nagelsmann’s contract.
Aiming for Long-Term Stability
Nagelsmann's current deal runs until the summer of 2026, covering Germany’s World Cup campaign. However, according to Bild, both the DFB and Nagelsmann are eager to secure an extension until 2028, reflecting mutual satisfaction with his leadership and vision. Sources suggest that Nagelsmann and his coaching staff are keen to continue their work with the national team.
A Promising Tenure
Nagelsmann took charge of Die Mannschaft in September 2023, tasked with revitalizing the team after a series of underwhelming performances. Since then, he has led Germany in 19 matches, achieving 11 victories. His tenure includes a quarterfinal finish at UEFA Euro 2024, where Germany fell to eventual finalists Spain, and a dominant campaign in the UEFA Nations League, where the team topped their group with an unbeaten record across six matches.
