Luka Modrić

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić shared his thoughts following his team's defeat to Liverpool in last night's UEFA Champions League clash.

As it stands, Real Madrid sits at a precarious 24th position in the tournament standings, raising concerns about their chances of advancing to the playoffs.

"We are not used to losing, but this is the Champions League, and we know how tough these games can be. We still have three matches left, and we must learn from our mistakes. I believe we will. In our last two La Liga games, we showed good form. We had a strong first half, and the penalty could have turned the game around, but we didn’t capitalize on it. Then came the second goal, and the game was practically lost."

"Defensively, we were solid, compact, and tight. We had enough counterattacks, but something was missing in the final third. That was the difference."

Despite the challenges, Modrić remains optimistic: "We still have a chance to reach the top eight. We must stay hopeful. The next three games will be difficult, especially against Atalanta, but if we win all three, we’ll have a shot at making it to the quarter-finals."

Real Madrid's next Champions League match is scheduled for December 10.
