As of January 1, 2025, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are free to seek new clubs after being excluded from Barcelona’s registered squad. The club failed to convince the Spanish football authorities to allow their registration for the second half of the season, and La Liga has officially removed both players from Barcelona’s roster.

"As of December 31, Barcelona has not provided an alternative that complies with La Liga's financial control regulations to register any players from January 2, 2025," read an official statement from La Liga.

Notably, Olmo’s contract with Barcelona includes a unique clause that could further strain the club financially. Should the player decide to terminate his deal—which runs until mid-2030—due to being unregistered, he is entitled to receive his full salary for the remaining duration of the contract. If exercised, this clause would deal another significant financial blow to the Catalan giants.
