Bayern Munich has been prohibited from wearing their traditional red home kit in the 2024/25 Champions League due to non-compliance with UEFA regulations. According to BILD, UEFA ruled that the black font used for player numbers and names does not offer sufficient contrast, violating visibility requirements. The organization has demanded that Bayern replace the black text with white.

This ban has been in effect since the start of the season, forcing Bayern to avoid their iconic red kit in all eight group stage matches. Instead, the team, led by Vincent Kompany, has been wearing either their black away kit or a retro beige kit featuring the club's vintage logo.

After finishing 12th in the group stage, Bayern is now preparing for the Champions League play-off round, where they will face Celtic. The first leg is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Glasgow.
