In the latest round of matches in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, Hamburg dropped crucial points in the race for top spot, while Schalke earned a vital victory in their battle for survival.

Hamburg faced Regensburg and started poorly, conceding an early goal from Adamyan. Selke had the chance to equalize early in the second half but missed a penalty. However, it was Selke who salvaged a point for Hamburg, converting a penalty in the 83rd minute. By that time, Hamburg were down to 10 men after Sahiti was sent off.

Schalke managed to secure an important 2-1 win over Kaiserslautern. Goals from Bachmann and Ba Pape put the Gelsenkirchen club on top, while Jensen scored for the visitors.

Finally, Nurnberg triumphed 2-0 over Ulmer, thanks to goals from Yander and Antista.
