Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams has received a wild card to compete in the WTA 1000 event in Indian Wells.

The 44-year-old American, who missed the entire 2023 season due to injuries, only participated in two tournaments last year, suffering early exits against Nao Hibino and Diana Shnaider. Organizers have highlighted her return as a major storyline heading into the event.

Another big comeback in Indian Wells will be that of two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, who is set to return to competition following her maternity leave.

The official entry list for Indian Wells 2025 features all top-20 ranked WTA players at the time of announcement. A strong contingent of Ukrainian players is also expected to compete, including Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Yulia Starodubtseva, Elina Svitolina, and Dayana Yastremska.

The main draw action at Indian Wells is set to begin on March 5.
