Last night, Russian forces attacked the training base of FC Chornomorets Odesa in Sovignon.

The club’s official website reported that on the evening of February 28, another brutal air attack by the Russian Federation caused significant damage to the Mariners' training facility. The explosion shattered windows in the swimming pool, affected the administrative building, and scattered broken glass across the sports rehabilitation complex. Several vehicles belonging to staff and club representatives were also damaged. The timing of the attack was particularly alarming, as it occurred during the team's scheduled arrival at the base ahead of their crucial Ukrainian Premier League Matchday 19 fixture against FC Livyi Bereh. An assessment of the full extent of the damage is underway.

“Fortunately, none of the players, coaches, or staff were injured, and that is the most important thing. Most of the squad and coaching staff stayed overnight at the base and are in stable psychological condition. To answer the pressing question—yes, all foreign players are present, and the entire team remains together as a true family during these challenging and destructive times.”

“The club is deeply grateful to our incredible army of supporters, who immediately expressed concern and sent messages of support through social media. But even more so, we extend our gratitude to those fans who, for years now, have been bravely standing against these monstrous aggressors on the front lines,” Chornomorets stated in its official communiqué.
