In the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal, Germany staged a comeback to defeat Italy 2-1. Despite taking an early lead through Sandro Tonali, the Azzurri were unable to hold on, as goals from Timo Kleindienst and Leon Goretzka secured the victory for the Mannschaft.

Despite the loss, Italy still has a chance to turn the tie around in the second leg, scheduled for March 23.
