Lazio - AS Roma 1:1

There’s no such thing as a quiet Roman derby — and Matchday 322024–25 Serie A proved no exception. Lazio and AS Roma shared the spoils in a fiercely contested 1–1 draw that did little to help either side’s ambitions of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Alessio Romagnoli gave Lazio the lead with a powerful header, igniting the passionate Stadio Olimpico crowd. But Roma, as always, refused to back down. Argentine winger Matías Soulé came to the rescue with a second-half equaliser that kept the Giallorossi alive in the top-four race.

Ukrainian international Artem Dovbyk, currently Roma’s leading scorer this season, was heavily involved but failed to find the net and was substituted in the 85th minute. It was a rare off-day for the striker, who had been in red-hot form coming into the derby.

The result keeps Lazio in sixth place and Roma just behind in seventh, with both clubs knowing they may have let a vital opportunity slip away with just six rounds remaining in the Serie A season.
