Napoli hosted Lazio, the league leaders, in a highly anticipated clash on 8 November as part of the 11th round of the Serie A season.

Gennaro Gattuso's side were chasing a seventh consecutive victory and their 10th win of the league campaign. Their hopes received a boost in the 28th minute when Frattesi broke the deadlock, putting Napoli on course for another three points.

However, the visitors suffered an unfortunate setback shortly after the restart. Pedraza turned the ball into his own net early in the second half, bringing Napoli level. Both teams pushed for a winner, but neither could find another breakthrough, and the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

Despite dropping points, Lazio remain top of the Serie A table. With a game in hand, the Romans hold a one-point advantage over Roma. Napoli, meanwhile, are still some way off the summit, sitting in 10th place.
