Hansi Flick: "Barcelona Have 90 Minutes to Reach the Final"
FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick acknowledged defensive frailties and a lack of focus as key issues in his side's dramatic 3-3 draw against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg.
"We didn’t start well. We conceded two goals but came back," Flick admitted in his post-match press conference. "We need to defend better. Inter showed they're a great team with lots of experience. They took advantage of set pieces."
Flick was full of praise for teenage star Lamine Yamal, who scored a crucial goal and inspired the team with another standout performance in a big game. "Yamal showed us the way. That 1-2 goal was vital. He's a fantastic player, and you can see his quality on nights like these. It's great to have him here," the German coach added.
Despite the draw, Flick remains confident ahead of the second leg: "This is a Champions League semi-final — the best teams are still standing. Inter Milan are a very strong side. But we have 90 minutes to reach the final, our ultimate goal. We have a real chance."
The return leg will be played at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza next week, with a place in the UEFA Champions League final on the line.
