Bayern Munich have officially been crowned Bundesliga champions for the 2024/25 season

Bayern Munich have officially been crowned Bundesliga champions for the 2024/25 season after Bayer Leverkusen failed to win against a spirited SC Freiburg side in a dramatic away fixture.

With Bayern watching from afar, all eyes were on Leverkusen — the only team mathematically capable of catching them. But a thrilling 2–2 draw in Freiburg meant the Munich giants have now secured their record-extending 34th Bundesliga title, becoming uncatchable at the summit.

Freiburg stunned the visitors with a 2–0 lead early in the second half, sending shockwaves through the title race. But as they’ve done all season, Leverkusen fought back. Florian Wirtz gave them hope in the 82nd minute, and just before the final whistle, defender Jonathan Tah scored the equaliser, salvaging a point — but not enough to delay Bayern’s coronation.

While the result seals glory for Vincant Kompany’s Bayern side, it may spell trouble for Freiburg. Dropping two points at home means they now sit just one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the race for Champions League qualification, with only two games left in the season.
