Valladolid - Girona 0:1

Girona FC took a massive step towards securing their La Liga status for next season with a crucial 1-0 away win against relegation-threatened Real Valladolid on Matchday 36.

Ukrainian international Viktor Tsyhankov started and played the full 90 minutes, helping to orchestrate Girona’s midfield in a tense battle. But once again, it was the evergreen Cristhian Stuani who made the difference — the 38-year-old striker netted the match-winner, just as he did against Mallorca, to hand Girona all three points.

With just three matches remaining in the season, Girona have climbed to 13th in the standings and now sit seven points clear of the relegation zone. While not mathematically safe, survival is now firmly within reach — especially considering that sides like Leganés, with just 7 wins all season, would need a near-miracle to close the gap.
