The Brazilian winger put pen to paper following a sensational season

FC Barcelona have officially announced that club captain Raphinha has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028. The Brazilian winger put pen to paper following a sensational season in which he scored 34 goals and played a pivotal role in Barça's La Liga title and Copa del Rey triumphs.

It’s a remarkable turnaround for the former Leeds United star, who had endured two challenging seasons in Catalonia. By his own admission, Raphinha had considered leaving the Camp Nou. But everything changed with the arrival of head coach Hansi Flick. Under the German tactician, Raphinha has emerged as the team’s talisman, earned a place on the Ballon d'Or shortlist, and is enjoying the best form of his career.

Across his first two campaigns with Barcelona, Raphinha contributed 20 goals and 25 assists in total. But this season has been a breakout year — 34 goals and 25 assists in 56 appearances, underlining his transformation into one of Europe’s most dangerous attackers.
