Chelsea capped off their season in style by winning the UEFA Conference League, defeating Real Betis 4–1 in the final held in Wrocław. With this victory, the London club becomes the first team ever to win all four major European trophies, including the now-defunct Cup Winners' Cup — a feat that will secure their place in continental football history.

Betis Strike First, But Chelsea Storm Back

Despite Chelsea’s clear status as favourites — boasting a stronger squad and having been tactically stabilised by head coach Enzo Maresca en route to securing a Champions League berth — the first half didn’t go to plan for the Blues. Betis stunned the English side in the 9th minute when Ez Abde finished a sharp counterattack, slotting into the far corner after a midfield interception.

Betis continued to threaten on the break and could have gone into halftime with a bigger advantage, but Chelsea survived the scare.

Palmers’ Brilliance Turns the Tide

For much of the second half, Chelsea struggled to create clear chances despite dominating possession — until Cole Palmer took control. On 65 minutes, Palmer crafted a moment of magic, delivering a diagonal ball from the right that Enzo Fernández converted to equalise.

Just five minutes later, Palmer again dazzled, beating young defender Jesús Rodríguez on the right flank before delivering a cross that Nicolas Jackson headed (or perhaps shouldered) home to put Chelsea ahead. Betis never recovered from the double blow.

Depth and Quality Seal the Win

Maresca’s substitutions highlighted Chelsea’s superior squad depth. On 83 minutes, Jadon Sancho cut inside from the left and curled a stunning shot into the far top corner. Deep into stoppage time, Moisés Caicedo added a fourth, firing in from the edge of the box to seal a resounding 4–1 victory.

The win cements Chelsea’s status as European trophy collectors, adding the Conference League to their collection of Champions League, Europa League, and Cup Winners' Cup titles — and ensuring their name will forever top that elite list.
