The 2025 French Open final showcased the very best of women’s tennis

Coco Gauff is the new queen of clay in Paris. The 20-year-old American and World No. 2 captured her maiden Roland Garros title in dramatic fashion, defeating top seed Aryna Sabalenka in a gripping three-set final: 6-7, 6-2, 6-4.

Despite losing a tight first set in a tiebreak, Gauff stormed back with dominant play in the second and showed nerves of steel in the third to secure the biggest win of her career so far.

She was presented with the prestigious Coupe Suzanne-Lenglen by none other than Justine Henin, the four-time French Open champion, adding a touch of legacy to a historic moment on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

This marks Gauff’s second Grand Slam title after her US Open triumph, and it cements her status as one of the brightest stars in the game.

Meanwhile, the excitement in Paris isn’t over yet. On Sunday, the men’s singles final will see World No.1 Jannik Sinner take on defending champion Carlos Alcaraz — a blockbuster clash between the two top-ranked players in the world.
