The success of the initiative will largely depend on cooperation between broadcasters and clubs

The Premier League is set to embrace a bold, American-style broadcasting approach next season, with Sky Sports and TNT Sports granted unprecedented access to players and dressing rooms — including live interviews during matches.

As reported by The Telegraph, broadcasters will now be able to interview substituted players shortly after they come off the pitch, offering real-time insight while the game is still ongoing. This marks a historic first in Premier League coverage.

In addition to these pitch-side interviews, broadcasters will also be allowed to film inside team dressing rooms — albeit with strict limitations. Cameras will capture pre-match and half-time moments, including speeches from managers, although certain private or tactical discussions will remain off-limits.

Another striking change will see camera crews permitted to step onto the pitch post-goal to capture close-up shots of celebrations, further enhancing the viewer experience and emotional connection to the game.

According to sources familiar with the matter, not all innovations will be implemented simultaneously or at every fixture. However, fans can expect to see substituted players conducting short interviews from the sidelines after cooling off, while the match continues in the background.

These innovations are set to roll out gradually across the 2025/26 Premier League season, with each club expected to offer dressing room access for at least two home matches. The success of the initiative will largely depend on cooperation between broadcasters and clubs.
