The Italian Super Cup will once again be held outside of Italy

The Italian Super Cup will once again be held outside of Italy, with Saudi Arabia set to host the prestigious tournament for the second consecutive year.

The competition will follow the "Final Four" format introduced last season, featuring Napoli, Inter Milan, Bologna, and AC Milan as the four participating clubs. The matches are scheduled to take place on December 17 and 18, with the final to be played on December 22.

The dates and format were officially confirmed by Serie A president Ezio Simonelli during a press conference earlier today.

Under the current system, the top two finishers in the Serie A standings face the finalists of the Coppa Italia. As such, Serie A champions Napoli will take on Coppa Italia runner-up AC Milan in the first semi-final, while Coppa Italia winners Bologna will meet Serie A runners-up Inter in the second semi-final.

While the exact stadium is yet to be announced, the matches will be held either in Riyadh or Jeddah, as Saudi Arabia continues to increase its involvement in international football competitions.
