The 36-year-old Italian tactician has signed a contract with the Dragões that runs until the summer of 2027

FC Porto have officially announced the appointment of Francesco Farioli as their new first-team head coach, marking the beginning of a new era for the Portuguese giants.

The 36-year-old Italian tactician has signed a contract with the Dragões that runs until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend for an additional season.

Farioli's most recent role was with AFC Ajax, where he narrowly missed out on the Eredivisie title during the 2024/25 campaign. Prior to that, he managed OGC Nice in the 2023/24 season, earning praise for his modern, possession-based style of play and tactical flexibility.

In the summer of 2023, Farioli was also approached by Shakhtar Donetsk for their managerial role, but declined the offer due to family-related concerns about relocating to Ukraine.
