The stage is set for a thrilling Wimbledon women’s singles final

The stage is set for a thrilling Wimbledon women’s singles final as Poland’s Iga Swiatek is set to face off against American star Amanda Anisimova on Saturday, July 12.

Swiatek, a former World No. 1 and multiple Grand Slam champion, was in devastating form during her semi-final clash. She made light work of Belinda Bencic, sweeping aside the Swiss player in just under an hour with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 victory. By the closing stages, it looked less like a match and more like a tennis masterclass.

The path to the final was far more turbulent for Anisimova. The 22-year-old faced the ultimate test against current World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. In a pulsating three-set battle, it was the American who held her nerve, breaking Sabalenka at a crucial moment in the final set to seal a dramatic 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win.
