Spain and Italy are through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

Spain and Italy are through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 following a decisive final round of fixtures in Group B.

In the headline clash of the evening, Spain came from behind to beat Italy 3-1. Despite an early opener from Oliviero in the 10th minute, the Spaniards responded in style with goals from del Castillo, Guijarro, and Esther, securing top spot in the group and sending a strong message to their rivals.

Italy also advance, despite the loss, thanks to Belgium’s dramatic 2-1 win over Portugal in the group’s other fixture. A stoppage-time strike from Kaiman (90+6) sealed the win for the Belgians and ended Portugal’s hopes of progressing.

Earlier in the tournament, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, and Germany had already booked their places in the last eight. The final two quarter-final spots will be determined in Group D, where France, England, and the Netherlands remain in contention.
