Monaco - Le Havre 3:1

AS Monaco opened their Ligue 1 campaign with a confident 3–1 home victory over Le Havre at the Stade Louis II, with Eric Dier getting on the scoresheet in his first appearance for the club.

It was a dominant performance from the hosts, who controlled large stretches of the match. The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Aleksandr Golovin delivered a dangerous cross that forced defender Gauthier Lloris into an own goal.

Shortly after the break, Monaco doubled their lead. Former Tottenham and England defender Eric Dier marked his Ligue 1 debut in style, heading home from a corner to make it 2–0 and instantly endearing himself to the home fans.

Le Havre briefly threatened a comeback after a defensive lapse by Vanderson allowed Rassoul Ndiaye to pull one back. But Monaco quickly restored their two-goal cushion, with captain Denis Zakaria setting up Maghnes Akliouche for the decisive third.
