Oleksandr Zinchenko Set to Stay at Arsenal as Arteta Plans Midfield Role
Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to remain at Arsenal this summer, with manager Mikel Arteta reaffirming his trust in the Ukrainian international ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. According to journalist Jordan Davis, the Gunners have no plans to part ways with the 27-year-old, who is seen as a key figure in Arteta’s tactical setup.
Arteta reportedly values Zinchenko’s Premier League experience and exceptional versatility — qualities that will see him deployed more frequently in midfield rather than his traditional left-back role.
Zinchenko is currently entering the final year of his contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2026. Last season, he made 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Despite rumours earlier in the transfer window suggesting a possible exit, Arsenal now appear committed to keeping the former Manchester City player — especially with Champions League football and another title challenge on the horizon.
