Fabian Ruiz Goal Edges PSG Past Angers After Dembélé Misses Penalty
Paris Saint-Germain made it two wins from two in the Ligue 1 campaign, but it was far from convincing as they scraped a 1–0 victory over Angers in the second round of the 2025/26 season.
Fabian Ruiz scored the decisive goal, while Ousmane Dembélé squandered a golden chance to extend the lead, missing a penalty in the 27th minute. Despite the narrow scoreline, Luis Enrique's side got the job done and temporarily climbed to the top of the Ligue 1 table.
PSG had also recorded a 1–0 win over Nantes on opening weekend, and while the performances haven’t dazzled yet, the champions remain difficult to dislodge from the summit of French football.
Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi, who made his debut last week, was left on the bench this time. With a busy fixture schedule ahead, the 22-year-old is expected to have more opportunities to impress as the season unfolds.
