Como 1907 - Lazio 2:0

Como 1907 kicked off their Serie A campaign in style, securing a commanding 2–0 win over SS Lazio at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, thanks to a standout performance from Argentine midfielder Nico Paz.

The 19-year-old Real Madrid loanee was the architect of the victory, registering both a goal and an assist. Despite dominating large stretches of the match, Como, led by manager Cesc Fàbregas, had to wait until the second half to find the breakthrough.

Tasos Douvikas gave the hosts a deserved lead early after the interval, finishing a well-timed cross from Paz. Lazio thought they had found an equaliser through Taty Castellanos, but the Argentine striker’s goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR check.

Shortly after, Paz put the result beyond doubt with a stunning free-kick, curling the ball into the top corner and leaving Ivan Provedel with no chance. The Lazio goalkeeper prevented further damage with several key saves, but the damage had already been done.
