France have arrived in Poland ahead of their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, but they'll be without one of their most dynamic attacking threats—Ousmane Dembélé.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger travelled with the squad to Wrocław, despite suffering a hamstring injury that will rule him out of Saturday’s Group C clash. According to reports, France’s medical staff quickly determined that Dembélé would not be fit in time and gave him the option to return to PSG for treatment.

However, the 27-year-old forward opted to stay with the national team, preferring to undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of the French medical team.
