Hotspur produced a dramatic comeback to earn a 2-2 draw

Tottenham Hotspur produced a dramatic comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express Stadium, after falling two goals behind in the first half. The result lifts Spurs into second place in the Premier League table after Matchday 5.

Brighton made a blistering start in front of their home fans. Rising star Yankuba Minteh opened the scoring early, and by the 31st minute, Yasin Ayari doubled the lead with a well-placed finish. At that point, it looked as if Thomas Frank was heading for just his second league defeat as Spurs manager.

But Tottenham responded just before halftime. On 43 minutes, Richarlison fired home to cut the deficit and give the visitors momentum heading into the break.

Spurs continued to dominate the second half, and their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke turned the ball into his own net under pressure — levelling the match at 2-2.
