Max Verstappen delivered another masterclass in race control as he claimed a lights-to-flag victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the 17th round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. Following his recent triumph at Monza, the Red Bull star secured his second consecutive win — and his fourth of the season — bringing his career total to a staggering 67 Grand Prix victories.

The Dutch driver was never truly challenged, leading every lap from start to finish on the streets of Baku. Joining him on the podium were George Russell for Mercedes, who put in a solid performance to take second, and Carlos Sainz, who surprised many by finishing third in his Williams — a remarkable result for the team.

Championship leader Oscar Piastri had a nightmare in Azerbaijan, crashing his McLaren into the barrier on the very first lap. He was the only retirement of the race, handing an opportunity to his main title rival Lando Norris, who finished seventh. However, Norris only clawed back 6 points, reducing Piastri's championship lead to 25 points.
