new era is brewing at Juventus as the Italian giants prepare for sweeping changes in the boardroom

A new era is brewing at Juventus as the Italian giants prepare for sweeping changes in the boardroom, signalling a long-term strategy aimed at restoring stability, success, and financial sustainability.

The first major step comes this November, when highly respected football executive Damien Comolli will take over as CEO. Comolli, known for his work in recruitment and sporting strategy at clubs like Liverpool and Toulouse, has already been involved in overseeing Juventus's recent transfer operations and is expected to play a central role in reshaping the club’s sporting vision.

But the reshuffling won’t stop there. According to sources close to the club, Juventus may appoint a new President before the end of 2025. While current president Gianluca Ferrero remains a respected figure within the organisation, shareholders are reportedly looking for a leader with a broader profile—someone with proven experience not only in football governance but also in economics and even politics.

Among the high-profile names being considered are two legends of the game: former club icon Alessandro Del Piero and French footballing statesman Michel Platini. Both would bring not only deep footballing knowledge but also significant institutional gravitas.

Financial restructuring remains a priority. In the last 14 years, parent company Exor has poured nearly €700 million into the club. Going forward, the focus will shift towards self-sufficiency, with a clear mandate to reduce dependency on external investment.

To support this transformation, the board of directors will be expanded from five to eleven members in the coming months. One of the most notable additions is expected to be former captain and club legend Giorgio Chiellini. His role will involve representing Juventus on institutional platforms, and there is speculation that he may eventually be groomed for the role of Vice President.
