The Ukraine U20 national team will make their fifth appearance at the FIFA U20 World Cup as the 2025 edition of the tournament begins today in Chile. Head coach Dmytro Mykhaylenko leads a promising Ukrainian squad into Group B, where they will face South Korea, Panama, and Paraguay.

The opening match for Ukraine U20 is scheduled for tonight at 23:00 Kyiv time, as they take on South Korea U20 in a highly anticipated group-stage clash.

South Korea play a fast-paced, vertical style of football. They are highly disciplined, constantly overload the opponent’s penalty area, and deliver a lot of crosses from the flanks,” said Dmytro Mykhaylenko in a pre-match statement shared by the official UAF website. “They’ve had strong showings in recent tournaments — finishing runners-up in 2019 and fourth in 2023.”

The 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup is expected to showcase the next generation of international stars, with scouts from Europe’s biggest clubs keeping a close eye on emerging talents.
