Chelsea have been dealt a major blow as star midfielder Cole Palmer is now expected to remain out until the winter, far longer than initially anticipated.

Speaking in Friday’s press conference, head coach Enzo Maresca admitted that earlier estimates were overly optimistic.

Palmer sustained a groin injury in September, and the original plan was for him to return after the October international break. However, further assessments have delayed his comeback significantly.

Despite his absence, Chelsea have performed relatively well — winning 3 of their last 4 matches, including a statement victory over Liverpool.
