West Ham - Brentford 0:2

Brentford delivered a composed and clinical performance to defeat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium, spoiling Nuno Espírito Santo’s debut on home turf as the Hammers’ new manager.

Ukrainian midfielder Yehor Yarmoliuk featured in the starting lineup and contributed to a disciplined display that saw the visitors dominate possession and tempo. The breakthrough came just before half-time, when Brazilian striker Igor Thiago reacted quickest after his initial header hit the crossbar, smashing the rebound past Alphonse Areola with authority.

Thiago thought he had doubled the lead early in the second half with a sharp finish, only for VAR to chalk it off due to a marginal offside. However, Mathias Jensen made sure of the result in stoppage time, slotting home calmly to secure all three points for the Bees.

West Ham struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout. Their best opportunity came through Jarrod Bowen, whose effort was expertly denied by Caoimhín Kelleher between the sticks for Brentford.
