Official: Paolo Vanoli Appointed as Fiorentina Head Coach

Paolo Vanoli has officially been named the new head coach of Fiorentina. The Italian manager has signed a contract running until the end of the 2025–26 season, with an option to extend for a further year.
The appointment follows Fiorentina’s decision earlier this week to part ways with Stefano Pioli after a difficult run of ten winless matches in Serie A. The club, struggling at the bottom of the table, is hoping Vanoli’s arrival will bring renewed energy and direction.
Vanoli’s first challenge will come against Genoa, who currently sit two points and two places above the Viola in the standings. Interestingly, Genoa also made a managerial change this week, replacing Patrick Vieira with Daniele De Rossi, setting up an intriguing clash between two freshly appointed coaches.
Born in Varese on August 12, 1972, Paolo Vanoli brings a wealth of experience to Florence. His previous managerial roles include stints with Italy’s U16, U18, and U19 national teams, as well as club management positions at Spartak Moscow, Venezia, and Torino.
