The Italy men’s national tennis team has successfully defended its Davis Cup crown, capturing the trophy for the third consecutive time after a confident victory over a surprising Spain in the final.

The champions’ path through the tournament was nothing short of impressive. In the quarterfinals, Italy comfortably dispatched Austria, and in the semifinals they overpowered Belgium. The Spaniards, meanwhile, had stunned the competition with back-to-back wins over higher-ranked teams — France and Germany. It’s worth noting that Spain competed without their top star, Carlos Alcaraz, while Italy also faced setbacks, entering the event without world No. 2 Jannik Sinner and world No. 8 Lorenzo Musetti.

The final unfolded with remarkable composure from the Italians. Matteo Berrettini (No. 56) opened the tie with a convincing 6–3, 6–4 win over Pablo Carreño Busta (No. 89). In the second singles match, Flavio Cobolli (No. 22) overcame a disastrous start against Jaume Munar (No. 36). After dropping the first set and going a break down in the second, Cobolli mounted an impressive comeback to win 1–6, 7–6(5), 7–5. With two singles victories secured, the usually decisive doubles match was no longer required.

With this triumph, Italy lifts the Davis Cup trophy for the fourth time in its history — and remarkably, for the third straight year. Not since the early 1970s has the tournament seen such dominance.
